Hello!
I'm a Global Media student on my last semester before graduation.
I'm glad to be part of this class, as I think we will learn a lot from each other, given our varied backgrounds. I'm specifically interested in studying and analyzing real-life examples of how ICTs have driven development, and how 'transferable' each experience is across different developing nations. Would project X in Brazil work in Kenya or not - and if not, what kind of modifications need to take place so that a similar project may also benefit people in Kenya?... Also, given my interest in communications campaigns, I want to learn how to integrate ICTs within communications campaigns in order to maximize the campaigns' impact.
The areas of the syllabus that I'm most interested in are "4. Low Cost Technologies," and "11. ICTs and Poverty Reduction."
As for language skills, I speak fluent French, conversational Spanish, and basic Moroccan Arabic (just enough to speak with my grandma back in Morocco :)). I've been lucky enough to live in many developing countries in Africa and the Middle East, my favorite being Djibouti.
